Men In Black

Men in Black

Aliens are real – and so are the secret government agents that make sure you never see them. Originating in 1990 with a Marvel comic book, the Men in Black franchise quickly blossomed into a film series with Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith leading the way. Never taking itself too seriously, the series relied on zany aliens and a tried-and-true buddy cop premise to make its claim to fame. While I wouldn’t necessarily call any of these films great, they’re fun summer flicks sure to bring out your inner conspiracist.

Men in Black (***1/2)

A fun riff on the buddy-cop genre, Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith bring their A-game to an alien-filled NYC.

Men in Black II (**1/2)

If you liked the first Men In Black, this is nearly a beat-for-beat remake. If you like sequels that raise the stakes and leap forward, this is not your movie.

Men in Black III (***1/2)

Bringing back a quality story and laughs around every corner, this third outing feels authentic and fresh.

Men in Black: International (**1/2)

It's a passable popcorn flick, but there's just nothing noteworthy apart from Kumail Nanjiani playing a terrific two-inch alien.
