Mouse’s Revenge
Game Style: Stage
Ages: All
Victory: Solo / Partner
Materials: Hula Hoop.
Setup: Establish a circular race track.
Rules: Choose two players to be the “Cat” and one player to be the “Mouse”. One half of the cat puts the hula hoop around their waist, and the other half grabs onto the hoop, standing behind the forward player. The Mouse starts a few feet behind the Cat on the race track – the bigger your track, the greater the distance. When you say “Go”, the Cat begins running away from the Mouse. If the Mouse can tag the Cat in less than 30 seconds, they win. If at any point the Cat becomes split up, the Mouse wins as well. If the Cat manages to last 30 seconds without being caught, the Cat wins.
Human Knot
Game Style: All-In Ages: Kids or Adults Victory: Team
Materials: None!
Setup: None!
Rules: Have the players stand in a circle then all move to the center. Have each player grab the hand of someone across from him or her. You must grab two hands from different people. Once everyone is connected, have each group untangle themselves into a circle without letting go of hands.
Alternate Rules: To make the game competitive, break the group into two or more teams and see who can untangle their group the fastest.
Name or Pain
Game Style: Stage Ages: All Victory: N/A
Materials Needed: Chairs (optional), pool noodle or pillow
Setup: Put everyone in a circle and put the noodle in the middle.
Rules: One player is in the middle. Another player starts by saying their own name, and then someone else’s name (e.g "Matthew, Jenna!"). That person must then say their own name and someone else’s name (e.g. "Jenna, David!") before the player in the middle with the noodle hits them with the noodle. You cannot say the name of a player who just said your name. If a player is hit by the noodle before they finish saying their name and another name, they are now in the middle. Once you are in the middle three times, you are either eliminated or forced to put on some sort of performance for everyone.
Goin' On A Picnic
Game Style: All-In Ages: All Victory: N/A
Materials: None!
Setup: Sit in a circle.
Rules: Announce that you are going on a picnic, and that if everyone else would like to come, they have to bring something. Next, name something that you will be bringing. The thing must start with the same letter as the first letter of your first name (eg. Samuel can bring Strawberries). In turn order, players then ask if they can bring something. If they follow the rule, then tell them that they can come. If not, say that they can't come. The game continues until all players are going on the picnic.
Rip Off
Game Style: All-In Ages: All Victory: Solo
Materials Needed: Duct Tape
Setup: Establish boundaries and give each player an eight-inch strip of duct tape to place on their forearm.
Rules: Players must rip the duct tape off of each other’s arms. Tackling is not allowed; players can only grab the duct-tape itself and rip it off. Last person standing wins.
Egg Roulette
Game Style: Stage Ages: All Victory: Solo
Materials: Lots of eggs, most boiled but a few raw
Setup: Boil a bunch of eggs, but leave a few raw.
Rules: Put all players in a circle, and put all the eggs in the middle. In turn order, players must take one egg and smash it into their forehead. If it’s boiled, they get to stay in the game. If it’s raw, they’re out. Last person standing wins.
Bird On A Perch
Game Style: All-In Ages: All Victory: Partners
Materials: Music player
Setup: Set up the music player.
Rules: It's basically musical chairs with people as chairs. Have everyone get a partner. Have them decide who the birdie is and who the perch is. Have all the birdies stand in a circle and all the perches stand in a circle surrounding the birdies. Have music ready. When the music starts, the birdies walk clockwise around the circle and the perches walk counter-clockwise. When the music stops, the birdies must find their perches and sit on them. Usually the perch kneels on one knee, making a perch out of the other leg. The last couple to pair up is out and the object is to be the last couple left.
Conform Or Die
Game Style: All-In/Stage Ages: All Victory: Solo
Materials: None!
Setup: None!
Standard Rules: Read out two options, like Coke or Pepsi. Wait a few seconds, while all players close their eyes. Next, repeat the first option (Coke in this case). All players who prefer Coke raise their hand. Once you've counted, repeat the second option. All players prefer the second option raise their hands. Finally, announce which option had less votes. All players who voted for the less popular option get one point. Any player that gets three points is out, although they continue in the voting process. Last player standing wins.
Alternate Rules: Select several players to stand in front of the group, either blindfolded or facing away from everyone. These plays must try to vote with the majority; if they do not, they are eliminated. Last player standing wins.
